Weddings, Wedding VenuesRev. Kathy Jennings, Asheville Wedding Minister, Best Wedding Officiants in Charlotte, Asheville - 2014 Couples' Choice Award Winner

For the third year in a row, the brides have chosen Rev. Kathy for the "Brides Choice Award" for North Carolina.  Unlike other awards in which the winners are selected by the company, the Bride’s Choice Awards are determined exclusively by recent newlyweds through surveys and reviews by the WeddingWire Network

Choosing a wedding minister is important, especially a wedding minister that listens to your unique ideas and helps you create a meaningful and heartfelt wedding ceremony. Reverend Kathy has a gift for listening and for helping couples find the words that speak directly from their heart. As an ordained interfaith minister, Kathy specializes in supporting couples with diverse spiritual backgrounds.

In choosing Kathy, you are choosing a wedding minister who:

  • Respects your beliefs and lifestyle
  • Honors your wishes, desires and comfort zones
  • Is open to new ideas, easy-going, flexible and creative
  • Is caring, experienced and has a calming nature
  • Is professional, organized, responsible and dependable
  • Believes your wedding ceremony should be about your own beliefs and feelings
  • Officiates your wedding ceremony with confidence and grace
  • Handles last minute changes with finesse and ease
  • Works with your wedding photographer to get the photos you want during the wedding ceremony

Here is what one of Rev. Kathy's couples recently had to say about their wedding day:

"Kathy was one of the best decisions that we made in planning our wedding. She is a natural public speaker who can convey joy, sanctity, and love through her words. We are completely satisfied with the outcome and look back at the ceremony as a near perfect moment in our lives. Our guests witnessed our commitment and shared our emotions with laughter, tears, and surprises. The process that she guided us through helped us create a ceremony that reflected our partnership, our surroundings, and our intimate group of guests. We were very lucky to have found Kathy to help us craft the most important part of our special day. For all of Kathy's special gifts, we are truly grateful."

Maria & Mark

Destination Wedding at the Highland Lake Inn

…gorgeous setting, beautiful couple…and lots of happiness bubbling from both of them during the ceremony.

All the guests were staying for the weekend at the Inn.  Katy and Derek choose the Inn because of Katy’s family summers spent at the Inn and all the great memories.

A special memory for me is when I was with Derek and his groomsmen, before the ceremony began.  I asked the Best Man if he had the rings…and he took them out to show us, and Derek began telling me about his ring and how it was made to be a replica of his father’s wedding ring.  That was something I had not heard of before.  I was touched and asked Derek if I could include that in the ring ceremony, speak to how special Derek’s ring is to him.  Derek agreed and when it came time for the rings in the ceremony, I looked at his father repeating what Derek told me about the special meaning of his wedding ring.  It was yet another powerful moment of their personalized ceremony.

This last photo is magical.  I added an excerpt from Katy’s testimonial…she speaks to the whirlwind which I think is so present in this photo as the room spins and they are so present with each other.

“Additionally, we were so happy we took Kathy up on the offer of a pre-marital counseling session. It was a wonderful opportunity for my fiancé and I to reflect on our relationship during the whirlwind of wedding planning.  We learned things about ourselves and each other that will help us grow together and strengthen our bond throughout our life together.”

I hope more couples invest the time and interest like Katy and Derek invested with pre-marital counseling.  Just the one session made a difference!
