The
loss of a loved one is one of the most emotionally charged times in
our lives. In the midst
of these emotions, grief, pain, confusion, and just plain
bewilderment, we are faced with the pressure of making decisions.
The most pressing question we are faced with, “How do I
honor the life of the one I have just lost?
While funerals, which usually
include a burial, take place in a local mortuary, chapel or church,
memorial services can be held anywhere.
If your loved one has chosen cremation, the service for them
can take place at a park, in a garden, at the seashore, or in a
private home. Whenever possible, the place should reflect the style
and interests of the one whose life is being celebrated.
The ministers of Coastal
Carolina Ceremonies are available to work with local funeral homes
to preside at the funeral and burial service. We are happy to comply
with the wishes of the family on these matters if a traditional
service is the choice.
However, our primary focus is in providing services
to those families who are looking to celebrate and honor the
person’s life in a manner that is not limited to the dictates of
traditional institutions.
Why should families for whom
regular church attendance was not a part of their lifestyle be
expected to “become religious” or follow the expectations of
those “in charge” when the end result is often a canned service
that says nothing of whose life we are celebrating and in some cases
may even fail to mention the name of the deceased? Your loved one
deserves a service that honors their life, however humble or noble.
Rev. Morningstar will meet with
you to discover who your loved one was in their life; what they
liked to do; what made them smile, or cry; what teams they cheered
for or hobbies they enjoyed. Each life is individually beautiful and
worth acknowledging in a personal way that celebrates their
uniqueness.
While the Bible offers many especially meaningful
passages to those loved ones seeking comfort in words, so there are
many poems and readings from various sources that also give us hope
and comfort for our feelings of grief and remind us of the promise
of our continued journey on the spiritual path.
Let us help you create the
service that meets your needs and celebrates your loved one. Contact
